Secret Pal 10 Questionaire
1. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?
My favorite is wool, BUT I love silk, alpaca, and all the others. I’m curious about the new blends, too. I’ve never tried the milk, corn or seaweed fibers, but I want to. I even like some acrylic blends.
2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in?
I use a big vase like basket for my straights (which I rarely use) and another shallower basket for my DPNs. I use my Knitpicks Options set most often and they have their own case.
3. How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?
My mom taught me when I was 8 or 9 and I dropped it until about 3 years ago.I would consider myself intermediate on a good day.
4. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?
Yes, I have an Amazon wish list.
5. What’s your favorite scent?
I like pretty much all citrus and most herbal scents.
6. Do you have a sweet tooth? Favorite candy?
Yes. Chocolate anything.
7. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do? Do you spin?
I do spin. I’ve given up most other crafts.
8. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD) I don’t listen to music that often, but when I do it’s U2, REM, that sort of thing
9. What’s your favorite color(s)? Any colors you just can’t stand?
Blue, green and red are my favorites, but I like all of them including naturals and neutrals. The only colors I’m not crazy about are neon
10. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?
I live with my boyfriend, 1 dog, and 3 cats.
11. Do you wear scarves, hats, mittens or ponchos?
Yes, I’m always cold in the winter, so I bundle up.
12. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?
I gravitate toward socks, hats and sweaters.
13. What are you knitting right now?
3 pair of socks, 2 sweaters, and a partridge in a pear tree.
14. Do you like to receive handmade gifts?
Oh, yes.
15. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?
Aluminum circulars are my preference, hence the Options set, but for dpns I like bamboo.
16. Do you own a yarn winder and/or swift?
Yep.
17. How old is your oldest UFO?
It’s only 2 ½ years old. That’s not too bad, right?
18. What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas/Solstice is my favorite holiday, but autumn is my favorite season.
19. Is there anything that you collect?
Nope, fiber and yarn take up all my extra space!
20. Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on? What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have?
I’m really curious about Socks that Rock (STR virgin here), also, Sweet Georgia yarns and Sea Silk. I’d like to try rosewood needles. I subscribe to Interweave Knits, Knit Simple and Spin Off. I’d love to get a copy of the German magazine, Rebecca. I’d prefer an English copy, but a German copy would work, too.
21. Are there any new techniques you’d like to learn?
I like to do color work, but I’m not as good as I want to be, so I’d like to improve that.It’s the same with finishing.
22. Are you a sock knitter? What are your foot measurements?
Definitely. I’m US size 9.
Length of foot:9.75 in (from back of heel to tip of toe)
Ankle circumference: 8.5 in
Ball of the foot: 8.5 in
Ankle bone to floor: 2.75 in
23. When is your birthday?
