Not 100 Things, yet.

1.) I smoke.
2.) I design Web sites professionally, but I used a template for the blog. Go figure.
3.) I wear glasses.
4.) I dislike almost all modern art.
5.) I have 2 sisters and no brothers.
6.) I have no religious affiliation. I think all of the major religions have good points, but the differences seem too important to all the members for my taste.
7.) I harbor secret bucolic fantasies.
8.) I’ve had 4 majors, 2 degrees, and I think about going back to school.
9.) I know I’m a dork, but I usually try to pretend I’m not.
10.) I’m a history buff.
11.) I am not a fashion plate.
12.) My parents are divorced.
13.) I think fiber appeals to me because I am usually conservative with color, but when I knit or spin something, I throw color caution to the wind.
14.) I am not conservative about much else.
15.) I am not allergic to anything that I know of.
16.) I watch (and record) Days of Our Lives and I’m only a little ashamed.
17.) I am very shy and this is sometimes interpreted as bitchiness.
18.) Sometimes I am bitchy.
19.) I am a feminist.
20.) I am a bookworm. I love books. I think you can find anything in a book.
21.) I have very few close friends.
22.) I rent.
23.) One of my degrees is a BA in Anthropology. I particularly enjoy Paleoanthropology.
24.) I don’t have kids and I’m not sure if I will.
25.) I am pro-choice.
26.) I have strong opinions.
27.) I have a dog and a cat.
28.) I don’t like beets.
29.) I rarely wear makeup.
30.) I would like to be more physically fit and active. Right now, I’m a knitting couch potato.
31.) My house is not clean. Most of the time.
32.) I have to be Miss Scarlett when I play Clue.
33.) I like to take pictures. I have to take a lot of pictures to get a good one, though.
34.) I love the ocean. I can sit and do nothing for hours on the beach just listening to the surf.
35.) I used to play the original Sims, but it cut into knitting time. And sleeping time. And eating time. Pretty much all my time.
36.) I like to cook, but not enough to do it everyday.
37.) My blog name comes from a poem called “The Flower” by George Herbert.

Grief melts away

38.) I don’t know why that bit made such an impression on me.
39.) R was the first person I met that knew who George Herbert was.
40.) I love Elvis.  Young Elvis, not old Elvis.  I own 2 boxed set collections.  And I listen to them.  Since I was a child, I would sing along and swoon.  Since neither of my parents is an Elvis fan, this was definitely odd behavior that has no discernible root.
